Your County - Putting Kent First
For information on services provided by Maidstone Borough Council.
Maidstone Council Leader, Chris Garland, is asking for your help to plan next year's budget. Due to the recession and cuts in government grants we have to make savings of more than £1m to safeguard frontline services next year. Councillor Garland wants to know how much you, the taxpayer, are prepared to spend to protect essential services.
The Cost of Council Services
This year (2009-10) a band D council tax bill is £1.443.97. £1,026.27 of this goes to Kent County Council, £216.99 to Maidstone Borough Council, £134.65 to the Police and £66.06 to the Fire Authority.
Prize Draw for Taking Part
To encourage you to take part, we are offering you a chance to win one of three family panto tickets for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Hazlitt Arts Centre or one of ten pairs of tickets to a film of your choice at the Odeon. The closing date for comments is Friday 20 November 2009.
