BEARSTED STATION
The Parish Council is mindful of the problems faced by disabled travellers travelling from London to Bearsted due to there being no disabled access to the northern platform. Whilst a new footbridge is planned NetworkRail advise that funding is not available to include the provision of a lift at this time, with the cost for installation being some £3/4 million.
We will continue to push for improvements to the station to provide access for all but in the meantime would like to advise those passengers who experience problems of the Assisted Travel Scheme run by South Eastern in a hope that this will help to alleviate any problems you may have.
